Today is one of those days where I am not really sure what to tell you, but feel compelled to update anyway.
I am almost halfway through War and Peace, and now loving every second of it. I got two straight hours to read at the pool Saturday night, which felt like luxury. I did feel rather pretentious reading War and Peace at the pool. I don't know why, but I did. I should check that.
I had a really fabulous weekend, my nieces came for their first joint sleepover, which was a raging success. How fun it was to have such wee kids playing together. And kudos to Isaiah, who really took on the roll of caretaker quite well. He is a natural with little kids (or, very well trained, which if this is the case, I am quite proud of myself!)
The weekend was quite productive as far as work goes, and was well tempered by some earth-nurturing, dirt digging time in the garden. I can hardly wait until midsummer to see how this garden does indeed grow. The bulbs have risen, the sunflowers seem firmly planted in the ground, and the tomatoes are bulging. I cannot keep up with bird seed though, and cannot outwit the pesky, but oh so cute squirrels.
On this Monday morning, for some strange reason I felt a 5:40 wake up time would be good, which actually gave me the chance to read the New York Times, most of it anyway, a task I have not been keeping up with. And blasted if I didn't miss another debate!

Today should be ripe with activity as we have grocery shopping to, a planned outing with grandma, swimming, writing, and scheduled phone meetings to contend with.
I hope everyone enjoys their day, and I will be back hopefully soon with something interesting to say.
