Baby, It's HOT Outside.

Who else is feeling the heat today?

I think after this brief blog hiatus, we will be hitting the pool. I hope you all are staying cool somehow.

We are entering the last days of summer vacation. My days are going to be pretty busy getting ready for school and just trying to have some fun. I'll try to fit in a few more blogs between now and September though.

The big boy is home sweet home, and his mom couldn't be happier to have him here. A full month away is a long time, but I think it was good. For him, he got to spend some time getting to know his dad and that side of the family in general. For me, it was this weird little glimpse into the future- a time when he won't be here all of the time. It makes you think if nothing else.

The littler boy and I got to spend a lot of time alone as well, which is pretty cool. He had a language explosion this month and that is fascinating to sit back and watch. The kid can carry on conversations now. I think next week he will be talking quantum physics with me.

My mile project is going slower than I anticipated- but I think that is actually a good thing. The whole point is to set a long term goal and stick with it to the end, kind of like reading War & Peace. (which I am not sure is EVER going to end. Why did I think toddler + War and Peace= good idea?) If you look to the right, you will see my timing is went from great to sllllloooooowww.

But I am proud anyway, life has been fighting me on making time to work out this last week and will continue to challenge me this week as well. Adam has been leaving the house too early for me to get up and workout before he is gone (Sorry, I am not ready to be a 5 a.m. runner), so I have been depending on nap time to work out, and nap time hasn't always been working out. That has been hard. And then Saturday- my reaaaaallllly slow time, like- I walked a whole lot more than I jogged, I was having super bad cramps (Sorry to those who don't want to read about my cramps). So, the fact that I worked out at all was really amazing. Today- my excuse is just the fact that I am working back up to it ;) I predict some awesome timing next week, with some okay times this week.

So, what do you think? How long until I make my 8 minute mile mark? I was at first thinking a couple of months....now I am wondering....
