5 is the magic number

!Hola a todos mis amigos!

It is Monday morning. I honestly think Monday mornings are my favorite day of the week, as if I was not weird enough right?

It is Monday morning and I am feeling the love in a most major way.  I don't really have anything of urgency to blog about, so I'll fall back on my old standby- the list of 5 things pertaining to this day, a state of affairs so to speak.

So, here goes nuttin:

  1. What music I am listening to right now?  Rage Against the Machine, Widespread Panic, Neko Case, Public Enemy, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul Simon on shuffle.
  2. What I am reading right now? The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I LOVE IT.  I really love it. In fact, I think am IN love with it. I am in love with the characters. I fall in love pretty easily I think.
  3. What I am most grateful for right now?  My littlest boy is happy, healthy, and playing. He has been very ill so this is a blessing indeed.
  4. What I want to do today but might not cuz it is cold? Take a bike ride. I may just walk the dog instead. It is easier to bundle up for a walk than it is for a bike ride. But then- I also want to go work in the ceramics studio if I get a chance. It is closed on Mondays but I may have an inside connection that can get me in. If she says come, maybe I'll suck it up and ride my bike up there. If she says no, maybe I'll walk the dog.  At least it's sunny.
  5. What I am going to eat here in a second? Gloriously tasty rice and beans with an avocado. I love avocados with about as much passion as I am mustering up for The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
I think I could keep going on and on, but 5 is the magic number, so I'll stop.

What are your five? Share with me? Pretty please?

Not sure I can come up with five, but here’s one: Today I’m positive about the brilliance and slant of the sunlight, which despite the cold, promises that spring is coming back (I’d been wondering!).

This excerpt from The Unbearable Lightness of Being was an epiphany for me:

“True human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore only when its recipient has no power. Mankind's true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect mankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.”

Love your blog and I too really like to see photos of homes, a slim peek into lives lived fully.

Thank you for showing my book Roots Shoots Buckets & Boots. It made my day. I work alone so much that I forget that there is an entire world outside my studio door.

Keep up your uplifting writing and well lived life.

The softened ground, we're just weeks from seedlings & spring planting.

The hennies are all safe & well, they've had some close calls this winter. They've made it through & we're getting eggs again.

The girls are spending more & more time playing with eachother, reading books. They are SISTERS!! It is so touching.

A husband who is always sweet & nurturing, has lately been giving me the gift of laughter- what a powerful thing.

Cabin fever turned to spring cleaning & rearranging... our upstairs is completely different. A newly cleaned/organized craft area waits for me downstairs.

It's always a treat to read your thoughts & see your world!
It was a good excercise to wake up & think of the magic 5.
Glad D is better & hope you got to play w/clay. xoxox
