Milk Cap Memory Redux and Other Natural Ramblings

I swear one of these days I will get it together to actually write a post, rather than simply dumping pictures and ideas into the interwebs and hoping someone still takes the time to check in now and again!

In the mean time, I figure that the least I can do is offer another idea for learning together, and for celebrating Spring in the process.

I wrote long ago about using milk caps and stickers to make memory games. You can link to the simple "how to" at this link.  This time we used the same idea to help us learn more of our bird names.

I was also pretty excited to find this printable book online, Illinois Common Birds, put out by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The IDNR's Education Department is a fantastic resource for all things nature when it comes to learning about Illinois' Natural resources!

And in other news, I am sure the birds in our neighborhood will soon appreciate these volunteer sunflower seedlings as much as I do.

It is really happening folks! Winter, I believe, just might be a thing of the past.

(and boy, wasn't this a rather long winded rambling for a "non post" post?)
