Iris Ann (Iris #4)

I have been so busy, and want so much to share some of my teaching stories with you, but feel so scattered it seems impossible for the time being. In addition to that, my philosophies and teaching strategies are changing and becoming more refined . . . so much to think about before I start writing about it.

In the mean time, I have been experiencing a sort of creative explosion for Spring- preparing for all of the new blooms to come, readying myself for another year of garden journaling and learning more about the flowers we grow and share. There will be so many flowers this year for painting and I feel ready for them. I have wanted to paint Irises for years, but wasn't ready for them until now, when I have this- my 3rd painting and 4th Iris creation total:

It is without a doubt my favorite Iris so far. It feels so odd to have waited patiently for years growing Irises, transferring bulbs, taking photo after photo, even being afraid to sketch them and then just have something like this just flow out of mind within a matter of days.

I can't help but call this painting Iris Ann-
as my good friend Ann has been on my mind all week as I painted.

So, while I wait for the real Irises to bloom, I'll have this to keep me company.
Blessed be and have a wonderful day!
Thanks for indulging my sharing!
