Sunflower Run ~ a Sunday Painting

Spring is here in full force and, for me, that means sunflower seeds! I have been buying them for months and mixing the seeds together in a little jar to make my own surprise variety mix.

I have planted about 30 seeds so far, and the squirrels and birds have spared about 6.  I am dutifully feeding the squirrels on the fence line everyday, so hopefully these will grow full and bright.  I look forward to the reward of my first bloom!

While waiting for the real deal, I have been imagining some glimpses into my sunflower future.  This is one of those imaginings, Sunflower Run, painted with acrylic on stretched canvas, 17X28 inches.  I hope I never tire of painting sunflowers.
