Happy Monday Everybody.
Did you have a nice weekend?
We did. It was short, but it was long. We accomplished a lot of play and a lot of work.
Evansville, Indiana gets a thumbs up from me when it comes to day trip travel. Maybe I'll do another post about it later, but for now- I like rivers.
Other Monday morning bits:
- Exercise: I beat my best time by one second this morning, 11:39 seconds. This little experiment is good for me. It is good for the whole training of the mind thing, because I could do it faster- but that isn't better. I am trying stay in that "optimal" level of exertion when I am running, not pushing myself so hard that I am completely breathless or hurting- and then do it faster in that optimal zone. I like being done with my work out faster as well. Its a good deal: I walk the dogs, come hoe, do some stretches, hop on the treadmill for one mile, and then walk for another quarter mile. Then I do a few arm exercises, but not much of that. Including the shower, the whole thing is done in less than an hour.
- Note to mother in law: No, really it's totally okay, your cup of tea is much more important than my breakfast, that I was already cooking when you came into the kitchen. I like my omelets crispy brown anyway, and how can you overcook a jalapeño? Go ahead, just step right in front of me; I really don't mind at all. And when you're done, go ahead and let the water just run and run and run while you load the dishwasher. It's totally cool. There is an endless supply of water in the world.
- Note to self: Get more patience and compassion; you can be a real asshole sometimes.
- Do you ever go to this portion of the White House website? Executive Orders Issued By President, I find this one particularly interesting. I personally DO NOT frequent this page often, but my good friend Mlle. Omnisciente sent me a good reminder this morning. Thanks love. Maybe I'll treat it like a blog link.
- Another interesting question to ponder: Should juvenile sex offenders be required to register for sex offender lists? and other questions of that nature asked in this NYT's article, How Can You Distinguish a Budding Pedophile From a Kid With Real Boundary Problems?
- And did I mention that I am going on TWO plane rides this fall with a newly turned two year old? I am wondering- is it really as bad flying with kids as the media portrays it these days? I have heard some scary stories as of late and am wondering when to start worrying about it.....
- And last but not least, I still miss my boy. I haven't even spoken with him in days.

I have found flying to not be an issue. But then, last time I flew with a nursling was a good 7 years ago.
I took lots of new stuff, hidden in my bags, to pull out at opportune times, like a demented clown.
