So what does that mean? It means I keep talking even when I don't have anything new to say. Or anything all that relevant anyway.
Do you care that I am trying to improve my running mile? I have never been a runner. I am scared of it and don't push myself. So, I am trying to change that by just working on my first mile- trying to get faster and faster and work on my form- which thus far is slow and clumsy. Today, I did it in 12:30, which may be laughable to some but it is great for me, especially since I just started this project this week.
Do you want to know that I am planning some new vacations? I am going to Denver in September, and Las Vegas in October. Both of these trips are dear to my heart, especially the Las Vegas trip, since I am meeting up with a gaggle of friends for another friend's art opening.
Do you care that I am going to a garden party tonight? I am looking forward to that; I can honestly say I have never been to a garden party. I feel kind of bad though; I woke up at 2 a.m. and realized I never RSVPed. Doh.
And I have a generous amount of vacation photos that I never posted, so let's just dump those off here now:
It might SOUND like a good idea to attempt a 14 mile hike after you had the flu since you are feeling much better, but it's not. However, you do stop more often to look around and enjoy the view when you can barely keep up the pace. Turning around and heading back about 2 miles in IS a good idea in that situation though, especially when a dead dog and a big unidentified snake end up in your way.
And I really have to comment on hiking in Kentucky in general. We were disappointed. There were some good views, but the two areas we tried to hike in, which touted breathtaking views, were in general disappointing. Lots of litter and simply mediocre trails (not to mention VERY hilly and it was HOT HOT HOT). It is such a beautiful area in general though, that had we hiked the full 14 miles of the first trails system we tried, we may have had a much different point of view. This resting area was pretty nice, although I believed we may have interupted some nice couple enjoying their time together in a pick up truck. They seemed surprised to see a nice little family of kids emerge from the woods.

When you just want to relax at the resort, there really isn't much more fun to be had than a family game of a volleyball, especially from the parental point of view. The teen agers involved might report that a bit differently, but I promise they had fun.

and little guys sometimes need to find a more appropriate place to play volleyball.

And okay, I lied. This won't be the last vacation photos post, because I still want to post the boating pictures, the Civil War National Battlefield pictures, and the family reunion photos but this is taking way too long. I know, I know, you can barely wait.

I admire you trying to improve your mile. I hate running and refuse to do it. I would much rather swim a mile.
Thanks! It is amazing how fast you improve when you do it everyday.
Swimming is good, good stuff. I don't think I could even swim a mile honestly. I may have to start with that next. We have a pool membership, but it is tough to find time up there as an adult.
you know what, I care about your mile, i really do! running is awesome and most people don't know that it doesn't have to be fast or terribly painful.
