Poem of the Moment: Dena Rash Guzman

Check out my new blog feature, the poem of the moment. You can see it on the right, under the picture of my mom pushing me in a stroller.

It is inspired by friend and talented poet Dena Rash Guzman, who has recently been published in many magazines, though I am lost to tell you which ones at the time. I read this one this morning and was just struck, simply struck, with it.

Here its is here too though:

Why So Sore? by Dena Rash Guzman

No visible enemies:
look. Look and see
blatant wealth, promise, poetic
heights to scale.

Life is an elastic
string of days I
snap and minister
to with harsh lenience.
